Manheim Hitachi event a huge success

Manheim auction event sells over £1.1m for Hitachi

Hitachi HQ at Trowbridge

Manheim, a leading UK provider of integrated products and services for the vehicle remarketing sector, has experienced one of its biggest days of the year with an off-site premium LCV event for Hitachi.

Over 230 buyers participated in the July event, which was held at the Hitachi HQ in Trowbridge.

Packed with unique and rare stock, the auction achieved a conversion rate of 95%, and a combined sales value of £1.19 million. With an average selling price of £10,483, the stock held low age (44 months average) and mileage (48,160 average) profiles and included high specification and metallic paints, plus a selection of rare specialist assets such as tyre fitting vans, minibuses and access platforms.

Dylan Thomas, LCV Auction Manager at Hitachi, commented: "We have had a unique working partnership with Manheim for the past ten years and we are always pleased with how well the events perform and the expertise and energy they bring to each and every event. The premium auction is a great opportunity to offer buyers a more engaging experience and showcase the Hitachi culture at our HQ."

Matthew Davock, Head of LCV at Manheim, said: "This is our fourth premium off-site event for Hitachi and every event gets even more exciting. Our auction lanes and online Simulcast platform have consistently strong attendances, but it's always great for us to host these premium event auctions at Hitachi HQ."

"Hitachi has a strong and unique buyer following, and with a very desirable catalogue of diverse and unique stock, it's no surprise that this event surpassed all expectations."

"Following the success of Hitachi, we look forward to developing further events to support our clients and help them to sell more vehicles, more quickly and more profitably."

The event coincided with record-breaking results for the first half of 2018 at Manheim's LCV auctions.

Davock continued: "The LCV marketplace at Manheim and across the UK is super-heated and continues to outperform year on year trends and results."

"Despite many market distractions over recent weeks, such as the scorching weather, World Cup and Wimbledon, we are seeing increases across the board when compared to the same period last year, with vans making £1,197 more, and first-time conversion rates up 9%."

"Our sale events and end results throughout the past quarter have been very pleasing and demonstrate our position as the market leader in LCV auctions."
