Manheim Auctions has confirmed its auction programme will remain online only during August.

A full auction programme will continue to take place via Simulcast, Manheim’s virtual auction platform. Simulcast fees remain waived during this period. Auction centres will remain closed to the trade and public except for the pre-arranged collection of purchased vehicles.

Chris Cush, Director of Auctions and Transport for Manheim UK, comments: “With Government guidance continuing to advise against mass gatherings and social distancing remaining a requirement, we have decided to continue with a Simulcast only auction programme during August. Our auctions are busy events with significant volumes of people in attendance and we believe we have a responsibility to protect our team members and customers from unnecessary contact.

“We have been running a successful Simulcast sales programme since mid-May. The number of sales increased in mid-June and at the same time we launched a new support package – Accelerate – to make it easier for our customers to buy online. Sales have been very well attended throughout this period and conversion and Cap Clean performance have exceeded pre-lockdown levels.

“We remain committed to a return to physical auctions and we look forward to reopening our lanes as soon as it is right to do so. We will naturally continue to review the guidance alongside our own operational plans on a regular basis and will update our plans for September as soon as we are able.”
